This year’s Southwestern Watercolor Society’s Annual Fundraiser is an art event not-to-be-missed with a raffle for an original piece of art, a fun-filled live auction of paintings and prints by nationally known artists. It will also include a silent auction for new and used art supplies and books. Make plans now to attend on Tuesday, May 14, 2019, at Lovers Lane United Methodist Church at 6 p.m. (this will take the place of our regular meeting and will start ONE HOUR earlier).
The Live Auction portion of the evening will include an expanded selection of donated paintings by renowned artists. Represented artists will include paintings by:
Graham Berry Bill Dale Jane Jones Brenda Swenson
Ron Bigony Walt Davis Marian Hirsch Bev Boren Marian Hirsch Pat Kochan Naomi Brotherton Michael Holter Ron Stocke
The Annual Fundraiser will be much larger this year, featuring fun refreshments and an expanded raffle. Raffled items will include artworks by reknowned artists and specialty art supplies and other popular items. Tickets will be sold for $5 beginning on April 9th at the April meeting and will also be sold the night of the event. All guests will receive one free raffle ticket. Members are encouraged to bring guests, potential members and past members to enjoy a fabulous art filled event.
This event raises money for the SWS Member Exhibition, and the proceeds are used to pay for artist’s awards. This is always a fun evening, especially with the live auction conducted by our own Walt Davis.
We are also looking for volunteers to work before or during the fundraiser, and we need your new or used art supplies, books, DVDs, easels and other paraphernalia to be sold in the silent auction.
Another way to support our fundraising effort is to make a cash donation on our website at www.swswatercolor.org on the home page. You may donate a memorial gift to honor one of our deceased members or contribute to the prestigious Edgar Whitney Award. http://swswatercolor.org
