Beginner Encaustic Workshop

1-day Beginner Encaustic Workshop, $140, 10am-4pm, Saturday, August 5

Learn a variety of techniques including how to build layers, fuse, texture, work with grids, stencils, embed objects, incise, transfer, collage and much more along with a working knowledge on how to melt and mix wax, a bit about the history of wax painting, a working knowledge of supplies and how to create your own workspace!

All supplies are included but you might like to bring your own special uncoated papers, tissue, leaves, Xerox and inkjet printout, drawings, unglazed ceramic pieces, stencils, stamps, thread, or thin fabrics, etc. We supply plywood boards and have cradled boards for sale.

This workshop includes the mini Encaustic Monotype workshop: In this specialty workshop, we will be using various papers and encaustic paint on the Hotbox to create unique encaustic monotypes.  ALL supplies included. We have plenty of papers here but you are welcome to bring more; thinner papers are best.
