The purpose of the 2023 Susan Beech Mid-Career Artist Grant is to recognize a mid-career artist with a substantial practice who has made a significant contribution to the field, as well as to provide resources for the development and implementation of a significant jewelry-related project that the artist would not otherwise have the means to undertake. The competition is open to makers between the ages of 35 and 55 at the time of the proposal deadline, who have an active and ongoing record of activity in the field. The winner will receive a cash grant of $20,000, to be paid over the two years in which the project will be implemented.

The 46th Annual International Watermedia Exhibition (IWE) is Houston’s premier watermedia event, showcasing the excellence of artists from around the world in a gallery exhibit held in Houston’s popular Museum District. In March 2023, entries selected by widely sought-after exhibit juror and judge, Brenda Swenson, will receive maximal exposure in a month-long gallery exhibit as well as an online exhibit that will last through the end of the year. Additionally, participants have opportunity to win awards totaling more than $10,000.
Founded in 1975, the Watercolor Art Society – Houston (WAS-H) is the only watermedia nonprofit in Houston and is known for presenting exceptional monthly exhibits, supporting dedicated community outreach and offering a vast array of educational programs taught by world-class instructors.

The 19th Annual Sculpture Garden exhibit at the Kemp Center For The Arts in Wichita Falls, Texas is now open for entries. All forms of outdoor sculpture will be considered, provided it meets the requirements of the prospectus (please read specs carefully). The juror for this event is Chad Plunket, Director of the Charles Adams Studio Project in Lubbock, Texas.
• Exhibit is displayed for a full year on the grounds of The Kemp (May to May)
• 10 pieces accepted each year
• Accepted artists receive a $1500 installation stipend; half on completed installation and half on completed deinstallation
• Entry is open to all artists from any location, provided artwork can be delivered and installed on the installation day

Navasota Artist in Residence Spring 23

The City of Navasota and The Arts Council of Brazos Valley invite artists to apply for a residency in Navasota, Texas! The Artists in Residence will have an opportunity to live, work, and exhibit in the historic Horlock House in Navasota, which includes living, studio and gallery space for each of the selected artists. The residency is anticipated to occur between March 2023-August 2023.
Each artist will also receive a one-time $600 stipend at the beginning of the residency to assist with groceries, fuel, and supply purchases.

$3,000 is available for purchase awards. The awards will become part of the McNeese’s Works on Paper Permanent Collection.
Eligible for entry are works in any medium that is on or of paper. The artwork, including frame, should not exceed 40 inches in any dimension.
A non-refundable entry fee of $35 is charged each entrant. This fee entitles the artist a maximum of three entries. The deadline for entry is February 10, 2023. Entries are submitted using the CaFÉ™ website https://www.callforentry.org/

The Alexandria Museum of Art invites you to celebrate their signature arts event, the Farm to Forest Plein Air Festival. This four-day festival will bring artists to Central Louisiana to paint “en plein air” – outdoors!
Artists will be able to paint the historic downtowns of Alexandria, Pineville and many surrounding small towns; all areas of Kisatchie National Forest including Kincaid Lake, Longleaf Vista among others; surrounding farms, nurseries and scenic areas. We look forward to showing visiting artists a taste of southern hospitality while they explore the naturally diverse region of Central Louisiana.

The Bernalillo County Arts Board solicits a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for artists and artist teams to submit qualifications for an innovative, signature work of public art for Bernalillo County @ Alvarado Square, the home of the county’s government offices. The selected artist or artist team will create an architecturally integrated piece that will become an iconic landmark that identifies Bernalillo County to the public. The work may be installed onto the exterior or interior of the building. The work should reflect the diverse cultures and landscapes of Bernalillo County. The budget for this project is $200,000. A local selection committee of community representatives, arts and design professionals, and Bernalillo County staff will recommend an artist or artist team for this project from the proposals. The winning artist or team will create the concept and design of the work and be responsible for installation. Artists or artist teams must reside in the United States.

The PASEO is a festival dedicated to bringing the art of installation, performance and projection to the streets of Taos, New Mexico. This two-day outdoor event, set in the high desert of Taos, New Mexico, is in its tenth year, and is scheduled for Friday and Saturday evening, September 15th and 16th, 2023.
The PASEO is seeking work that is immersive, participatory, and/or will make a dynamic impact within the Taos Historic District of Taos during this evening festival, scheduled to start at sunset and run to 11pm. PASEO 2022 brought thousands of people to the streets of Taos to experience this annual celebration.
Additionally, Artists are encouraged to share their process of art -making with the Taos community. As part of the application process artists are invited to submit proposals for adult and youth workshops, lectures and forums.
