The outside thermometer keeps shifting between “sultry” and “spontaneous combustion,” and the smart events are moving indoors. The Texas Triffid Ranch, Dallas’s pretty much only carnivorous plant gallery, follows suit, moving indoors for a special two-day open house over the July 4 weekend. Come out to view carnivorous plants from around the planet, including pitcher plants (North American, South American, Asian, and Australian), sundews, butterworts, bladderworts, carnivorous bromeliads, and trigger plants, and stay to take home unique carnivore enclosures as living art. The action starts on Saturday, July 3 from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm and continues on Sunday, July 4 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm: admission is free and masks are mandatory.
