Who Was Misty Amber Moore?
“Sullen” Misty Amber Boldish Moore (June 1, 1982 – April 10, 2021) was a local artist and poet who performed spoken word on stages around the world, including opening for poets Saul Williams and Erykah Badu. She performed at Dallas Poetry Slam, Mad Swirl, Dallas Writers Garrett, Women of the World Poetry Slam, and slams in Spain and France. She was the founder of traveling student slam poet organization, Sounds of Articulate Poets (SOAP). Misty released multiple poetry CDs, including “Reflections,” and recorded by MicMost “Eye Rhyme” (as “Misty Boldish”). Several of her poetry books are available online at Barnes & Noble or Lulu. Rest in Power.
We hope to honor her legacy by bringing together poets from many of the diverse poetry crews in Dallas that she loved, while creating a space to share our stories, and love of poetry in her memory. Together we carry on to encourage mutual support of our community’s creativity.
