The Kingsville Main Street Advisory Board seeks sculptures to be placed in the city of Kingsville, Texas as part of Kingsville Main Street Community Art. We will be selecting approximately seven sculptures for the inaugural year with a $1,000 Honorarium for each selected work. The work will be located in the historic downtown area along or near E. Kleberg Ave.

A national juried exhibition calling for artists to submit monochromatic artwork. Monochrome is defined as the exploration of one color: varying in shade, tone, and tint of a single hue. All monochrome variations of colors in the color wheel are encouraged. Examples of popular monochrome artists include Yves Klein, Frank Stella, Josef Albers, and Ellsworth Kelly

35th Annual International Exhibition

DESCRIPTION The Annual International Exhibition is a juried visual art competition organized by the Department of Art and Art History at The University of Texas at Tyler. Internationally known artists, curators, and scholars have served as jurors selecting works for exhibition created by some of the best contemporary artists working today. The Department purchases three to six works from the exhibition each year; purchased works are added to our permanent collection. The permanent collection serves as an educational teaching resource; much of the permanent collection is exhibited throughout the UT Tyler main campus.

The Annual National Drawing and Small Sculpture Show attracts works by contemporary artists across the country and is judged by a guest juror of national stature.  Resulting Purchase Awards have built an impressive Permanent Collection at Del Mar College.

This year’s 54th show runs February 21, 2020, opening reception 6-8 p.m., and closes May 8, 2020.  Accepted artwork is displayed in the distinctive Joseph A. Cain Memorial Gallery.



Navasota Artist in Residence Spring 2020

The City of Navasota and The Arts Council of Brazos Valley invite artists to apply for a six month residency in Navasota, Texas! The Artists in Residence will have an opportunity to live, work, and exhibit in the historic Horlock Home in Navasota, Texas, which includes living and studio space for each of the three selected artists as well as a retail gallery space. The residency period is six (6) months from mid-February 2020 to mid-August 2020.

The City of Navasota will provide amenities including living/studio space, retail gallery space, internet, cable, and utilities free of charge to selected artists with the purpose of providing artists the opportunity to create and sell their work. Each artist will also receive a one-time $600 stipend at the beginning of the residency to assist with groceries, fuel, and supply purchases.



43rd International Watermedia Exhibition

The 43rd Annual International Watermedia Exhibition (IWE) will highlight the artistic excellence of its global participants in a gallery exhibit held in Houston’s popular Museum District. In March 2020, selected entries will receive maximum exposure at our juried, month-long exhibit and have an opportunity to win generous awards from our sponsors. This year highly sought after Eric Wiegardt is the Juror and Instructor. Through media partners, strong public relations and advertising, the 43rd IWE is intended to help promote and provide optimal exposure for outstanding international artists who excel in water media. 

Founded in 1975, the Watercolor Art Society – Houston (WAS-H) is known for its extraordinary achievements in bringing water media artwork to the greater Houston area. The only watermedia nonprofit in Houston, WAS-H offers exceptional exhibitions, dedicated community outreach, and educational programs provided by world class instructors.

The purpose of the Art Jewelry Forum’s (AJF) Young Artist Award is to acknowledge promise, innovation, and individuality in the work of an artist who is early in his or her career, has created an independent body of work, shows potential for continuing to create new work, and is rigorous in their approach to create and produce new/exciting/thoughtful viewpoints.  The award is also intended to advance the career of a promising artist.
