The City of Navasota and The Arts Council of Brazos Valley invite artists to apply for a six month residency in Navasota, Texas! The Artists in Residence will have an opportunity to live, work, and exhibit in the historic Horlock Home in Navasota, Texas, which includes living and studio space for each of the three selected artists as well as a retail gallery space. The residency period is six (6) months from mid-February 2019 to mid-August 2019.
The City of Navasota will provide amenities including living/studio space, retail gallery space, internet, cable, and utilities free of charge to selected artists with the purpose of providing artists the opportunity to create and sell their work. Each artist will also receive a one-time $600 stipend at the beginning of the residency to assist with groceries, fuel, and supply purchases.

TEXRail is a new 27-mile commuter rail line that will extend from downtown Fort Worth, across northeast Tarrant County, through North Richland Hills and Grapevine, and into DFW International Airport’s Terminal B. This line, which will begin service in early 2019, is projected to serve more than 8,000 daily riders at nine stations by the end of the first year of operation. By 2035, nearly 14,000 riders are projected to ride the system.
TRINITY METRO recognizes that the integration of art into TEXRail Stations is an important component of the new rail line and an opportunity to reflect the communities it serves. TRINITY METRO is seeking to commission eight (8) local artists to create original, site-specific, two-dimensional artworks for eight (8) TEXRail Stations. The proposed site of the inagural Public Art installation is located at the northwest corner of Davis Boulevard (FM 1938) and Dove Road, in Westlake, Texas. This location functions as a major crossroad for local and regional movement and is the cognitive center of Town. As such, the art competition seeks to identify and commission an exceptional work of art to be installed at this crossroads. The commission will reflect Westlake’s attention to quality and design, committment to the arts, and to the citizens of Westlake.

The year-long Art On The Green Sculpture Garden Exhibition at The Kemp Center for the Arts is in its 15th year. The juror will accept between 8 and 10 pieces for exhibition. Artwork is exhibited for 12 months. In addition to installation stipends, there will be three cash prizes awarded by the juror/judge at the time of installation.
All forms of outdoor sculpture will be considered, provided it meets the requirements of the prospectus. The exhibit space surrounds a public building; artwork will be placed throughout the site at the sole discretion of the contracted installer and Arts Council staff.
